eye to the sky
before the morrow's coming rain
two cooper's hawks high
surfing the thermals
over the osage plain

gypsy guitar on the stream
followed by jazz fusion 
living the dream
between stints of yard work
and a cold can of old delusion

only saw the hawks
due to my bionic eyes
cataracts cleared 
ably replaced by the skillful doc
with poly lenses made to size

but i'll always remember 
the music in the operating room 
as the doctor sucked out the relics
saying "now i hear patients say
that this is where it gets psychedelic"
